Dear Friends of Sadie Rose,
How are we already halfway through January 2017?
I had some personal obligations that had taken attention away from SRF at the end of 2016, but am delighted and excited to be back on track, sleeves rolled up, and ready for 2017.
I have updated our newsletter page to include our more recent newsletters. I have included a PDF file of our 2017 Support and Events Calendar here. Please feel free to print this out so you can plan accordingly for the ones you’d like to attend.
I wanted to bring your attention to some pretty important upcoming events. For more information or to volunteer for any of these events, please email Regina at firstname.lastname@example.org or call/text 540-810-0307.
1. Feb 9: Community Coffee and Pastry Bar, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, Sadie Rose House. WE WILL HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF STRITE’S DOUGHNUTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS MORNING! Individuals, friends, business owners, pastors, and anyone interested in more information about SRF and networking, please stop by for a tour of the Sadie Rose House, meet members of our support group, hear about our plans for 2017 and beyond, and/or just enjoy a cup of coffee and some pastries with us or grab some for the road.
2. Feb 9: All-you-can-eat Pancake Supper, 4:30-7:30 pm, Montezuma Hall (Located a few miles outside of Dayton on Ottobine Road or Route 257 West.) We will be serving sausage, pancakes, and applesauce, coffee, tea, and water. A donation the amount of your choosing pays for your meal. Fliers will be available soon. Please mark your calendars, help spread the word, and bring family and friends to enjoy the evening.
3. Mar 4: Grief Retreat, Mountain View Fellowship Church of the Brethren, 9 am – 3 pm. This event is open to all grieving the death of a loved one, not specifically but certainly including the death of a child/grandchild/sibling. We have several presenters lined up for this event and will cover the topics, “Helping others honor our grief,” a workshop based on input from our very own support group members on how to effectively communicate our grief needs to those around us, “Guilt and Grief,” and “Caring for your mind, body, and soul in grief.” Lunch will be catered by Hanks with Chicken, BBQ Pork, Mac and cheese, green beans, cole slaw, bread and butter, chocolate and spice cakes, and drinks. Mark your calendars and watch for registration forms soon.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
