This is an event at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren April 29, 6 p.m., that I wanted to extend to the child-loss community. The invitation is as follows…

Are you carrying a burden? Going through a trial? Based on James 1:2-4 and inspired by the many people in our lives that are facing difficulties, Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren is hosting a “Count it all Joy Service and Celebration.”

We invite you to join us April 29 at 6 p.m. for our 5th Sunday Praise Service as we come together to lift each other up and to celebrate the work of God being accomplished in and through our lives.

The service will include congregational hymn-singing and Scripture reading, along with an opportunity to write your burdens on a piece of paper and lay them at the foot of the cross. We will conclude the evening with a cake and ice cream party in the fellowship hall.

All are welcome. Please invite your friends, co-workers and neighbors. If you know of someone that is facing a particular trial and would like them to receive a personal invitation from the church, please contact Regina Harlow at 540-810-4351 or regina@sadierosefoundation.org. If someone can’t be with us in person, they can participate from home via our live streaming online at www.beavercreeakchurchva.org.

We all face trials, we all carry burdens. Whether the burdens are sickness and disease, financial related, stressful job or no job, family related, loss, concerns for our church, our nation or the global community; these burdens can sometimes weigh us down beyond what we feel like we can bear. This is an opportunity live out the admonition to bear each other’s burdens and to “consider it pure joy” in the midst of these trials so that our faith is made “mature and complete.”

For more information, contact Regina Harlow at the information mentioned above.
