We are currently planning our annual Remembering Our Babies Walk in conjunction with National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, October 15th, and our annual Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony in conjunction with the Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candlelight Ceremony, December 8th. Scroll down this page to see information and RSVP forms for both events.
The Remembering our Babies Walk October 15th, is free of charge. Donations are appreciated. We will gather at the gazebo on the west side of Court Square in Harrisonburg from 6:30-7 p.m. We will light ceremonial candles and walk around the square at 7 p.m. There will be a registration and information table as well as a table for photos or mementos of those you are walking for. This walk is for anyone who wishes to promote awareness for pregnancy and infant loss. Please invite your family and friends to participate. RSVP in the form further down this page if possible so we can have the right amount of candles. We are looking forward to lighting up Court Square to honor our babies we carry in our hearts instead of our arms.
The Candlelight Ceremony is December 8th at 7 p.m. at Sunrise Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. This event is in coordination with The Compassionate Friends’ Worldwide Wave of Light. This is to remember and memorialize children of any age who have died and for grandparents, parents, siblings, family and friends. To submit a photo for the remembrance slideshow, email a JPEG photo to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the name of the child you are remembering, their date of birth and date of death. The ceremony will consist of several readings, a song, a brief presentation by Tammi Privott whose 16-year-old son, Matt, died in 2008, the slideshow and a time of candle-lighting for all who wish to participate. Please bring a snack to share following the ceremony. To RSVP, scroll down this page.
