Dec 14: 7th Annual Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony, hosted by the Sadie Rose Foundation in participation with the Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candlelight Ceremony, 7 p.m., in the NEW facility of New Life of the Shenandoah Valley Church, 51G Burgess Road Harrisonburg, (behind the old Shoney’s restaurant.) “The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.” The Sadie Rose Foundation encourages you to bring family and friends to help honor the memory of the child you are remembering. We encourage participants to remember the life of children of all ages, and for siblings, grandparents, and friends to join us! We will have special music, readings, and a video slideshow of pictures submitted of children being remembered. Submit photos to email@example.com for the child(ren) you are remembering to be included in the slideshow. After the slideshow, we will light candles and loved ones will have the opportunity to speak the child’s name they are remembering. Bring a snack to share for fellowship following the ceremony. For questions or more information, contact Regina at 540-810-4351 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
