Today’s photo subject: Signs! This sign is one of the most amazing miracles I have ever experienced. Fortunately, there was a wonderful photographer, Traci White, on hand to capture the moment. We were all set to begin our First Annual (October 15th) Remembrance Walk in Grottoes, VA, when a thunderstorm blew in. We were unsure as to whether or not the walk would actually take place when the clouds parted and a brilliant rainbow touched down between two empty infant swings in the park playground! (Ironically, as another sign?! This photo suggestion falls on the day of our Third Annual Remembrance Walk!) Day 9: Special Place: There is no place more peaceful to me than being in the mountains and riding horses. I feel so close to God and to Sadie when I am afforded those special moments. Nature is a sanctuary for my otherwise broken heart and busy life, the unconditional friendship of horse (and dog) a healing balm for my wounded spirit.
I first shared this blog in May of 2011 after reading this book.
The concept of heaven was never foreign to me. I was raised in a religion where you were taught not to live for this world, but for heaven alone. And the heaven you were living for was far greater than “any eye has seen or ear has heard or human mind has conceived.” (1 Corinthians 2:9) I was cool with that.
Throughout my youth, I lost both sets of grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and was completely at peace, and maybe even a little jealous, that they had obtained the very thing I was living for before I did.… Read the rest
