THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored, walked, ran, volunteered, or helped in any way! We raised about $11,000 from this event! That money will go toward our general operating budget so that we can continue to be a resource of support for local people grieving the death of a child.

We will host our annualCandlelight Ceremony December 8th at 7 p.m. at Sunrise Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. This event is in coordination with The Compassionate Friends’ Worldwide Wave of Light. This is to remember and memorialize children of any age who have died and for grandparents, parents, siblings, family and friends. To submit a photo for the remembrance slideshow, email a JPEG photo to email@example.com along with the name of the child you are remembering, their date of birth and date of death. Today’s photo subject: Signs! This sign is one of the most amazing miracles I have ever experienced. Fortunately, there was a wonderful photographer, Traci White, on hand to capture the moment. We were all set to begin our First Annual (October 15th) Remembrance Walk in Grottoes, VA, when a thunderstorm blew in. We were unsure as to whether or not the walk would actually take place when the clouds parted and a brilliant rainbow touched down between two empty infant swings in the park playground! (Ironically, as another sign?! This photo suggestion falls on the day of our Third Annual Remembrance Walk!) Day 4 ~ Capture Your Grief 2012 ~ Most Treasured Item: This one was hard for me. We have so few things that actually belonged to Sadie, but I keep all her things in a little box and those times where I need to “hold her,” I open her box.
