We have moved to our new location and are getting settled in.

Also, we hope you can join us for this event July 19! There will be plenty of food trucks, unique vendors (start your Christmas shopping early with these one-of-a-kind local items,) and some great music!
We plan to have an open house that day and invite all SRF families to who can to join us as we show our new facility to the community. We are also needing bake sale items for that day. If you can help, please text or call Regina at 540-421-6458. Hope to see you there!
We are so grateful and excited about everything that is happening at SRF! Here are a few things for your calendar.
June 11 we have our regular monthly open house coffee from 9:30-11:30 at our current office location, 206 Main Street.
June 16 we will be preparing the new house at 195 Main Street for some painting and planting as we begin to personalize this location for SRF use.
June 17&18 a local church camp is sending crews out to paint and plant. Feel free stop by and/or pitch in any of these three days.
June 20 we plan to move from our current location at 206 Main Street Dayton, to the new house. Any/all help will be appreciated! Plan on meeting at the house (195 Main Street) at 9 am that morning. This should only take a few hours.
June 26 we have our annual picnic at Purcell Park in Harrisonburg, shelter #2. Arrive as early as 6 pm, plan on eating around 6:30. Drinks and table service provided. Bring a dish to share. Everyone welcome. Bring family and friends!
July 19 Local Dayton businesses are hosting “The Dayton Flea,” which will benefit the Sadie Rose Foundation. Food, Finds and Fun! 11 am – 6 pm. Hosted by Beyond the Barn, The Cottage, The Rustic Oracle, and Mama’s Caboose. Join us on July 19th in Downtown Dayton, VA at the Main Street/College Street Y for flea market vendors, food trucks, and bluegrass music! More details to come. SRF is planning an open house for this event. Please share this event and plan to join us for this fun family day!
In place of our May 11 support meeting, we invite you to join us at the Dayton Town Council Meeting for a rezoning request. The council will vote on whether or not to rezone the house located at 195 Main Street Dayton specifically for use by the Sadie Rose Foundation. This incredible opportunity is being offered to us for the same monthly rent we currently pay for two rooms at 206 Main Street. Wear your 5K shirts if you have one. Your support just by showing up means so much! The meeting starts at 7 pm in the Dayton Municipal Building 125 Eastview Street Dayton. All proceeds benefit The Sadie Rose Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides support for child, infant, and pregnancy loss to residents of the Shenandoah Valley.

Registration: 12:45 – 1:45 p.m.
Race start: 2 p.m.
* A 3.1-mile course on paved and gravel roads in the rolling hills around Dayton. Suitable for large-wheeled strollers. Well behaved, leashed dogs welcome.
* Generous merchandise awards to overall male and female winners, as well as deep age groups.
* Post-race refreshments available to all runners and spectators.
$20 before April 15 guarantees t-shirt;
$25 after April 15 and on race day.
Family/team discount (4 or more) of $18/individual regardless of entry date.
* Teams and individuals are welcome to run in honor of a child.

Our regular support meetings schedule has resumed. As always, check our Facebook page and website for changes or for inclement weather updates.
We are in the process of forming committees to serve as part of our board and leadership team. More information on that and opportunities to get involved will be forthcoming.
We will NOT have our regularly scheduled support meetings for the month of December! Please see this list for December events. However, one-on-one support, person-to-person, texting, email, and Facebook is available at ANY time! Contact our office or see the list of peer support parents on page 2 of our November December 2014. Our regular support meeting schedule resumes in January 2015.
Dec 8: 28th Annual Bereaved Parents Memorial Tree Service, hosted by Sentara RMH, 7-9 p.m., on the first floor concourse. This service is open to anyone in the community who has lost a child in miscarriage, stillbirth or early infancy. It provides an opportunity for anyone who has lost an infant to honor the child’s memory by hanging an ornament on the tree, if they desire. To attend this special service, please register by calling Sentara RMH Healthsource at 540-564-7200 (855-564-7200). For more information on Bereavement Services at Sentara RMH or community support groups for miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant loss, contact Nancy Shomo at 540-433-4427.
Dec 11: Informal Coffee, hosted by the Sadie Rose Foundation, 9:30-11:30, at our office at 206 Main Street Dayton. Join us for refreshments, support, and information.
Dec 14: 7th Annual Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony, hosted by the Sadie Rose Foundation in participation with the Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candlelight Ceremony, 7 p.m., in the NEW facility of New Life of the Shenandoah Valley Church, 51G Burgess Road Harrisonburg, (behind the old Shoney’s restaurant.) “The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.” The Sadie Rose Foundation encourages you to bring family and friends to help honor the memory of the child you are remembering. We encourage participants to remember the life of children of all ages, and for siblings, grandparents, and friends to join us! We will have special music, readings, and a video slideshow of pictures submitted of children being remembered. Submit photos to firstname.lastname@example.org for the child(ren) you are remembering to be included in the slideshow. After the slideshow, we will light candles and loved ones will have the opportunity to speak the child’s name they are remembering. Bring a snack to share for fellowship following the ceremony. Join us Nov 22, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Dayton Church of the Brethren, 202 Main Street Dayton, VA, for a Holiday Shopping Bazaar with multiple vendors and local crafters, homemade baked goods sale, homemade doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, and soups and sandwiches for lunch.
