Volunteer Opportunity

***Update: The Bridgewater Ruritans have found another group to help out as well so it doesn’t max out any one organization. I have updated some time slots below. Right now it looks like they could use some Friday help. Thanks to all who have responded so far!

We are so grateful for our volunteers! You are a vital part of our organization!

The Bridgewater Ruritan Club has invited volunteers to help out in their food booth at the Rockingham Count Fair on behalf of the The Sadie Rose Foundation. The Ruritan Club then makes a donation of $4 per hour per person who volunteered on our behalf. Some people had so much fun last year, they called to see if more shifts were available.

The fair runs from August 12-17. The shifts are 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

You get free entrance into the fair at the time of your shift, so plan on coming early or staying after to enjoy some time around the fairgrounds. The work mostly involves taking orders from one of several windows or putting sandwiches together. It is not hard, but sometimes busy, work.

Youth groups, Sunday school classes, cooking clubs, and other groups would be great! If you can’t commit to filling a whole shift or evening, we would still love for you to help out as an individual.

The Bridgewater Ruritan Club is a great organization in our community that provides scholarships and other support to teens and families right here locally, so it is a great way to help out to great causes in one evening.

If you are able to volunteer in this way, please contact Regina at 540-810-4351 or regina@sadierosefoundation.

ALL shifts are late afternoon and evening (p.m.)

Tuesday – 13th – 7:30-close – Covered

Wednesday – 14th – 4:30-7:30 – Covered

Friday – 16th – 4:30-7:30

Friday – 16th – 7:30-close

Annual Picnic Information and July Newsletter

Friday, June 28, 2013, The Sadie Rose Foundation will host our annual Memorial Picnic and Balloon Release at Purcell Park in Harrisonburg, 6 p.m. We are in the first shelter when you enter the park across the field from the big playground.

Bring your family and friends and a side-dish and/or dessert to share. Drinks, table service and some biodegradable balloons provided. After we eat, we write messages on balloon to our children gone too soon and release them together. This is a beautiful way to remember our children with others who understand. If you have any questions, call our office phone at 540-810-0307 or our cell at 540-810-4351 or email us at sadieroseoffice@gmail.com.

Funds needed to continue

Thank you for all your support in the past. We are at a place where we need funds to continue for the next month. (April.) At this point we offer all our support and services free of charge, because we do not want to add possible financial stress to someone who needs support after the death of a child. If you are able to donate, please do so by clicking on the donate button at your left. (Or you can mail a check to SRF P.O. Box 382 Dayton, VA 22821.)

You can also donate in memory of a child. We will send a card to that family letting them know a donation was made in their child’s memory. Any amount helps. We rely solely on donations to offer this support. All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for helping us continue this important outreach to our community… because the path of grief after losing a child should never be walked alone.

To learn more about all the various support programs we offer, hover on the “Support and Outreach” tab and read the different pages. You can also view photos of our events and ceremonies on our Facebook page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

We sincerely thank you!
